In this paper, we discuss the basic theory of algebraic geometry, and in doing so begin to develop an intimate relationship between algebraic and geometric objects and concepts.

Algebraic groups and moduli theory
These are notes from the course Algebraic Geometry III. We work over a field of characteristic zero. We start by doing some basic representation theory. Then we introduce algebraic groups. Then we study representations of algebraic groups. Finally we apply this to moduli problems.
متن کاملAn Introduction to Affine Schemes
This paper gives a basic introduction to modern algebraic geometry. The goal of this paper is to present the basic concepts of algebraic geometry, in particular affine schemes and sheaf theory, in such a way that they are more accessible to a student with a background in commutative algebra and basic algebraic curves or classical algebraic geometry. This paper is based on introductions to the s...
متن کاملOn P vs. NP, Geometric Complexity Theory, and the Flip I: a high level view
Geometric complexity theory (GCT) is an approach to the P vs. NP and related problems through algebraic geometry and representation theory. This article gives a high-level exposition of the basic plan of GCT based on the principle, called the flip, without assuming any background in algebraic geometry or representation theory.
